Review: I’m In XX Bras

I realised that I needed new bras. Unfortunately, the circuit breaker has caused a lot of shops to close. I’m one of those who wears cheap bras and most sports bras. Sad to say, I usually wear them all until they are torn in lots of places. Since everyone’s shopping online nowadays, I decided to join by taking up the risk of online bra shopping.

Good Bras are Hard to Find

Good bras don’t come cheap, and it takes a lot of trial and error to find the perfect bra. Women’s bodies come in so many different shapes and sizes, which goes the same for breasts. There are those close to each other, spread far apart, rounder, flatter… It’s tough for a bra company to fit everyone’s needs!

Why Do You Need a Good Bra?

A good bra is essential, not just for comfort! It helps with posture in the long run. I’m not sure if anyone else has felt the same, but it hurts when your breasts jiggle when you exercise. A perfect fit is healthy and makes you feel confident.

A well-made bra is also crucial when you’re trying out clothes. With a bra that isn’t measured correctly against the skin, your breasts might spill out of the cup, or the straps might cut into your shoulders. It’s super uncomfortable and harmful for you!

How Do You Measure Your Bra Cup Size?

Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart. Have a thin bra on so that your nipples are moulded properly into the bra. Next, it’ll be great to get a friend or a family member to help with this but not to worry. Get a measuring tape and measure the circumference below your bust, i.e., underbust. That’s where your bra will “cling” to your skin.

Next, measure the circumference where your nipples are. Don’t tighten too much until your breasts squish together. Make sure the tape is tight enough for it to be still able to move, but not too loose!

Oh yes, everything is measured in inches!

Your bra size will be like this (in inches):

[Under Bust (Inches)][Bust (Inches) – Under Bust (Inches) = Alphabet Assigned to Each Number]

So for AA size, the difference is 0 inches. For A size, it’s 1 inch, and for B, it’s 2 inches… and so on. For this review, I’ll let you know that my size is 34D. Be proud of your size, everyone!

I’m In!

No two bra companies are the same, and this mantra applies to their bras. There’s no other way but to go down physically to their stores to try on the bras. However, because of our dear COVID-19, it’s tough to do so. Online bra shopping hasn’t been a good experience because none of them fit me.

That’s when I came across I’m In from a MoneySmart article recently. Honestly, I’m not sure why it took so long to come across this brand. Designed in Singapore, these bras are cut according to Asian sizes and bodies! They also have other sleepwear products too, if you’re keen.

What To Choose?

Now here’s the trial and error part. I knew my size, but each bra is built differently with the materials, sewing, breast placement, and support. Knowing that I needed more support due to being a bigger size, I bought two of their bras – Everyday Hustle Wireless T-Shirt Bra in Navy and Air-ee Seamless Bra in Wine (Superfine Cotton).

Btw, it’s free shipping to Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong with purchases above SGD30. For those not in these countries, they have worldwide shipping too. That’s real dope!

Upon receiving my parcel, I was super excited to try them on. For modesty, I will be wearing a white shirt underneath.

My first thoughts were: this T-Shirt Bra is beautiful!

The straps had IMINXX lining throughout, and the padding felt comfortable and solid. However, I felt a tad uncomfortable even though I had measured my underbust and bust properly. The edges poked me uncomfortably around my underbust and at the sides of my breasts.

It was not the bra’s fault because the cup size matched, and the straps didn’t dig into my skin.

Sad to say, I will be *returning this to them once their returns form is open.

After wearing the navy blue bra, I was a little bit scared. I’ve had so many bad experiences with online bra shopping that I knew this would be the final straw. I would never shop online for bras again if the second bra didn’t go well.

Well…

I am so happy with this bra!

My breasts felt comfortable, and the cotton moulds well against my body shape. None of the straps or the side of the breasts digs into my skin. When I jump, I feel secure and confident. I’m not sure if this is a-okay for sports, but I’ll try it out when I do my exercise routine in my room!

The bra hooks are in threes, which is more secure. I haven’t worn bras with hooks in a while, but due to wear over time, having multiple hooks helps to tighten it.

What’s incredible is that even though I am a D-cup size, I felt extremely comfortable. The website says that it supports A/B/C. With my experience, I think I can safely recommend this to all my D-cup ladies. Any cons? I have no qualms about this bra, really! (Plus, they have an extra push-up padding~)

Oh yes… One more thing.

Return & Exchange Policy

Surprisingly, their exchange and returns policy are generous for a lingerie brand! Their site stated that “the physical item(s) has to be returned as a whole in their original selling condition, unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and with their tags intact”.

What’s more – the first return is complimentary!

You can read more about their return and exchange policy here.

Would I repurchase it?

I’m done trying new brands. I’m going to get their Airee bras in other colours once my next salary is in. I’m sold!
